Hey guys,
We have been on Weiss lake since Monday and have not been able to find the crappies after the storms that rolled thru...does anyone have any idea where all the finicky crappies have gone! Drove up for the week from Ohio and hate not to be able to find them!
We also have a couple more guys coming down tomorrow!
Thanks!

check the deeper water close to the spawning areas.

Shut up and FISH!
We had the same problem a few years back when we were there in March. We finally found them in Yellow Creek on steep drop in 18'-20' fow. There were some brush piles on a flat beside us in 10'-12' fow, but the fish were stacked up 50-80 yards out from the brush piles on the side of the drop. It might be worth a shot if you hadn't already tried it. Good fishin' ! Almost forgot, we were using slip bobbers and minners w/ gold hooks.

It gets real tough when youre on fish, storms move thru, and the fish disappears.:o This is the time of the year that it happens too. Everybody is waiting for the spawn trying to keep up with the fish movement and the weather keeps sending them back. Hope you find 'em while youre there.
Hi Guys,
After following a storm for 500 miles to go fishing at Weiss Lake where they had been catching 30-50 a day...I hired a guide and caught 5. Fished 4 more days and only caught 12 more! I did have the opportunity to meet JigFlip (Bud) a super nice guy. He showed us what they were catching them on and invited us to follow him the next day and advised us that trolling was the way to catch them. The wind picked up and it was extremely hard to troll in 15-20 mile an hour winds...But it was still better than sitting home on the couch.
I just wanted to thank JigFlip for his kindness and for sharing his knowledge with us. We will try again next year.

Dont know if your still here or not I just seen your post but the shallow bite is real slow right now dew to all the rain and the cold snap that came with it... Go deep looking for clear water away from the main lake... Bay Springs - Yellow Creek and Big Nose are clear. Pulling some Southern Pro Hot Grubs on 1/16 ounce heads is still producing good catches. Blue-Chartreuse and Weiss Lake Killer are producing pretty good. Changing trolling speeds constantly to keep the bites coming is the key to getting bites right now... Hope this help...!
