Where are they?

I know you are pretty touchy about your favorite spots so maybe you could message me and give me a helping hand and at least point me to an area!

catching has been slow and sporatic. Caught 6 last week and 3 today (only fished 1 hour). Today I caught 2 12" and a 10". The fish have been turning on since the water has been warming up. I Usually fish the same areas as you do. Right now look to the drop offs and blowdowns in the creeks. A buddy at work suggested the West Dike on the wild life refuge (Latitude: 34.656714 Longitude: -86.998784) accross from the 3m plant in decatur. You can fish from the bank or river there.

OH Yes I know they are there but the big question is where and when - they have got to be getting pretty close to turning on!

Bob if you put in at the new Decatur ramp it is almost directly across (North) the river you have to be careful going across the stumpfield. You will notice a rock dike with a spillway. If you leave the old ramp (Marina by the bridge) go under the railrad tracks then turn right and stay in the channel that hugs the bank back to it. The area is often referred to as "Beulah Bay".

Walleye.....what Toad said. I use mapquest/googlemaps alot to find spots and forgot that little detail. I use the satellite view to give me an idea of landmarks, currents, and possible obstructions inthe water (route planning). Sorry about not providing enough info. Leave the Decatur boat ramp and go down stream till you are about even with the 3M plant the proceed slowly (possibility of hitting stuff in water after you leave the channel)to the northern bank. The dike runs pretty much north/south and has a discahrge/drain pipe in the middle. my buddy says fish the stumps and that alot of them are "marked" (I do not know in what manner they are marked.)

Thank you I just have not fished that area very much, I have fished the south shore line and into the cove that has the little trailer park type private marina. Have done pretty good on Bass around the lilles pads and shore weeds when the water is up! "FISH ON"
