    Default Madison County Lake Crappie

Took the wife last Friday from 3pm to 7 and caught 60 crappie and 10 big blue gills only kept 15 crappie and 10 bream. Flat lined trolled in 13 fow with southern pro jigs blue black chart yellow white chart. Most of the fish where small but the ones we had weighted 16 pounds including the bream sorry no pics this time.
Madison County Lake is a very good lake to catch a mess of crappie and for anyone thats just learning how to long line its just large enough that you can work on fine tuning and give your spouse or fishing partner time on the trolling motor.
I will be taking a shipment of jig heads with sickle hooks to the store this week stop by and give the fishing a try some very good people are running the lake now and they are making sure the fish are well taking care of he told me last year 12,000 crappie where caught and this year there has been 6,000 caught all ready. There open from sun up to sun down closed on wed.

My dad and i have been fishing it for the last month or so from the bank and caught a bunch 2. Not slabs but good eating size. Planning to get a boat and try friday. Allen is a really nice guy and does a great job at running the lake.

Bob your right its a good place to take the kids even if your in a boat you can go in at any time to use the rest rooms and eat and be back fishing in 5 mins the kids wont get bored and you can pack a lunch a eat at a picnic table.A 1 for the kids.

Jameslin, thanks for trying to help. I did not know about the area they were referring too and I mainly fish rough areas that they could not fish. So I could be of no help to them. I knew you would help if you could or knew you may know what direction to send them. Thanks for your efforts.
