exactly Joe, this is what I have been trying to say. Bama was not the best at every position or on both sides of the ball against every team they played in the 2 years they won titles. They controlled the clock and used the most productive backs consistantly and never allowed the other teams to exploit any weaknesses. When you control the clock and running game and pound your opponent, you eventually break them down if you have the talent. Oklahoma only exploited Alabama on defense because Alabama allowed them too. Oklahoma was more physical in pass rushing Alabama too, but none of that would have even mattered if Bama woukld have stuck with running the backs who would have won the game for them.Quote:
