Went to a FCA breakfast in Montgomery this morning and one of the speakers was Barrett Trotter. He was real high on Gus and talked about his Chritian influence on the players plus his commitment to the players. You guys mite have made a good hire. Time will tell. Kudos to Barrett, John Micheal Boswell, and Mo Isom for there testimonies today. They all have been through trials in there lifes and conquered those trials with scripture and faith. Back to Gus, he played under Gus so he is real familiar with him and high on him.......![]()
I don't think he will challenge Saban but I think he'll get the program back on Track..... My son goes to Lee Scott in Auburn so I talk to alot of the barners in the know and the control of players was outa CONTROL. One of the captains on the fire dept in Aub told me at a football game that the coaches come to the police and fire dept and asked them to help patrol the players at nite. they were that outa control and the coaches could not control them. Hopefully Gus can get em straightened out. Saben had to do the same thing when he came to Bama, because Shula had no control.....
im auburn all the way and gus was my #2 choice( my #1 was peterson and he aint leaving boise). gus was there and knows the problems which is mostly why he left and why he didnt retain any other staff. he is a good christian man, but he will not harp on that so much. we will score points and always be in games. the defense has a long ways to go and it might not happen this year. as for can he compete with saban, saban is in a class by himself. he is not unbeatable but will not lose many. he is 61 and i hope he retires soon. actually hope he goes to nfl or prison or somewhere next week, but not likely either.
saban also has the REC and his butt buddy as the ncaa pres. so he can buy players without restrain. you have pictures, arrest records and players moms with "house sitting" jobs driving 60k$ suvs but no ncaa concerns. but yes he is awesome.
