Still Catching, a little slower today I think due to the number of big Bass boats running the little waterway. Fishing the tidal backwaters is fine during the week when it's quiet but I find the better fish especially move deep and get lockjaw with the extra big boat traffic.
Managed to wrangle this 1.54 pound Brute (for where I'm fishing) out of a cluster of tree limbs. I was a little excited when I got'em out twice only to have the fish run right back in. With the water so clear I could see the fish running but it wouldn't come up to the top without putting up a serious fight. Personal best in those waters for me and I have fished them for over 20 years. It's always nice to catch a new Personal Best.
Nice catch bud, and thanks for the tips on larger baits. I found the same results as well.
Got tricked a little this week, finally figured out the fish are moving shallow already, really shallow into spawning grounds, in the two big “P” rivers.
Need to learn to move quicker to different waters this time of year rather than wasting time trying to make them where they are not.
