    Default First Flight LOZ 01/09/2026

First trip of 2026 was decent. It started off hot around Harbor Towne with a Super Fluke and the bite died off as the sun came up. I switched to a jerkbait, got a 13 inch crappie, and snagged an estimated 25-pound Buffulo. In the afternoon I got some more bass on a finese jig and Super Fluke. Water is clear and 48 degrees. If anyone is looking for a good rod deal BPS has St. Criox Premiers on sale. I tried mine today for the first time and it was like magic in my hand. Name: 20260109_081840.jpg

Nice bass in January, yes please. Never had much luck with the flukes, more into the finesse baits. Did pick up a couple glide baits at the sport show last weekend. You're off to a great start in 2026.

Acadamy had Bucca Trick Shads on sale and I got a couple. I haven't gotten into the glide bait thing too much. Flukes and wacky worms are my two favorite baits for bass because they skip really easy and get a lot of bites when conditions are right

Some good looking bass. Still looks cold, but as long as you had fun, and you look like you did it's worth it....
