    is often times almost beyond your wildest imagination
    the splendor can just take your breath away
    the bluegill were flying an extra nice high variety of colorations the other day
    here a a few images of the victims involved
    and yes ...KABOOM

    But, I always favored the Longear Sunfish, or what my Grandpa called "Redbellies".

    Some great colors on those bluegill fishes. Even the girl gills have some nice color too them. Soon as water starts to cool they get even more frisky, had some jumper hybrid gills last trip out.

    The fall pull and feistiness of them out there currently is just wow …man are they determined to get away .

    Our long ear sunfish are typically really colorful during some parts of the year as well .
    Hard to bet a big male long ear in the late spring in the what is pretty department for sure
