Can someone please direct me to a thread or post below what a school of crappie looks like on side imaging? I've been using a HELIX 9 since the spring and it is useful for locating baitfish and structure but I'm just not coming across schools of fish - I'd love to see an example to get better with identification. Thanks.

That’s an intake-output on the dead lock below Nickajack Dam. Not sure what year they built a new lock but this one was sealed up on the upper end. Those grates hold a ton of crappie throughout the year. Lost count of how many I caught there in the 7 years I fished it. In the winter it would also hold walleye and sauger. Not to mention about 1 December the white bass would also take up residence. On many days it was a fishing utopia.

Thank you both.
Roy: what is your chart speed setting in the Hummingbird for those images? I usually set mine from 2-4 depending on boat speed. I do alot of slow trolling around 1mph.
My chart speed is about 6 and my boat speed is between 3 and 4 mph. Probably won't get clear imanges from side or down moving as slow as you are IMO.

My normal travel speed is 4 mph (pedal kayak) and I've been running the chart speed at 4. Sounds like I need to bump it up when I'm on the move. Thanks.
That is some great imagery I'm going to set my chart speed like this.
