Default Got ‘em on the fly.

Got into some nice shellcrackers and Gills a week ago Friday.
4wt glass fly rod and Woolly Buggers, Pink Bugger late day and Orange & Chartreuse in the morning did the trick. Kept 6 for the table.

Bet those crackers were a hoot on the flyrod .
About time I got one of my flyrods out and put them to use .

Oh yeah, had to put them on the reel and use the drag with the bigger ones. Definitely has me addicted to panfish on the fly.

That's how I catch them for striper bait only with a sponge spider.

Some nice fish Nathan. I also love the buggy whip but hate the trees I always seem to find. Even better when a surprise fish takes a bite of your little offering. A 4wt is perfect for them. I landed a 5+ largemouth years back on a betts popper, and the rod was junk but all,I had at the time. So much fun and quite a challenge.

Been doing good with the fly rod on bluegills but catching chinquapin (shell crackers) on fly rod is a rarity for me.
