Default Drink cooler for the boat

It’s getting hot again so I’m more conscious about trying to keep a cooler on the boat. What do you guys use? Was thinking something smaller that’ll hold a three to four bottles of water and a sandwich. Probably get a re-usable ice pack just so I don’t have to get ice every trip. Let me know what you guys like

I like a soft sided cooler, like you stated a couple good size ice packs. And load drinks and food that are already cold.the soft sided ones don’t seem to slide around as much for me.

Personally in all my rigs I keep a dedicated small red & white igloo. The cheap little ones from Walmart. With the new insulations out there it keeps everything very cold. I use ice, over already 35 degree drinks, sandwich rides on top of the ice padded with 2 paper towels which it is wrapped in before bagging. I like hard coolers, better insulation.

My setup runs a couple different ways, depending who and how many people are on my boat. Sometimes I use a soft sided lunchbox (maybe 5-6 waterbottles) for snacks and sandwiches and a zip top cooler (maybe 24 cans) for drinks when I have couple people on my boat. I got it from Costco and love it. It is also my work lunchbox.

If I have a bunch of people on my boat and we're expecting to not drive and spend the day, I have a hard sides 96 can cooler I bring lol

I have a small hard cooler with a sliding top, can't loose that going down the road. Holds 4-5 of the ~20 oz water bottles. You could freeze one+ water bottle to keep things cool/cold, and then drink 'em as they melt.
    GO BIG ORANGE !

I meant to behave, but there were just way too many other options available at the time.

No time for a sandwich ..... just get one that holds a 24 pack of beer and take some cheese crackers! ..... you need to leave room for the whisky flask.

I could’ve done that a few years ago. I don’t think my new liver or my doctors would appreciate it though. lol

I agree on a hard sided cooler. I had a soft RTIC that was a gift from a sales rep. I kept the zipper lubed with stuff came with it, I think the zipper gave out in less than 2 months or 5 or 6 uses!

I’ve got a yeti bag cooler but I absolutely hate the zipper.

Yeah maybe time for a 12 step program if you aren't kidding! One thing I love about fishing Corp lakes is a zero alcohol tolerance. And I like my beer, but a time and place for it!
