My son and I headed over to Missy late this afternoon after the rain moved out. Water still pretty muddy. We fished off the rip rap at the dam and they were right up on the rocks basically at our feet. Bobber and jig set 6 inches deep and cast and retrieve both worked. Kept 20 solid ones in 2 hours and said thats good enough with work coming in the AM and me having to clean them. They were still biting though when we packed up. May be able to get out again midweek if not probably next sunday.

I still have not been out. I just got the pontoon back from Tippy Boat Co with new prop, steering cable, impeller and some leaks welded. Ordered a LiTime 24v lithium and almost have it wired up. I'm hoping it will pull cranks for 8 hrs but I kept the lead batteries on separate plug in for backup. Still need to buy an hummingbird Xplore 12 so I can connect with TM and use follow the contour.

It looks like a nice weekend finally so we are planning on going Saturday and maybe Sunday. It looks like the rain is done for the week so hopefully its not up too high and stained. I will be on Missy almost every weekend here out. We are camping at Port Clinton over memorial day. Hopefully the wind cooperates. I'm a little nervous taking the toon on Erie. Good luck everyone!

Got out today , small jon and 30 mph gusts don't mix. Managed six keepers before I decided to throw the towel in and come back on a calmer day.

Was able to get out yesterday after work. Hit same area as sunday. Similar results. Caught about 40 or so. Kept 15 to give to my parents. Most are black crappie right up on the rocks. Watched another guy on down from me and he was doing pretty good as well. I may get out again sometime on sunday.

I got back out today. Kept 20 probably through back 15 or so. Like you said mostly black crappies. Water temp was 69* to 67* and water was still a little high and stained. Won't get a chance to get back out till Monday, not sure how long it will hold on. Great day to be out on the water.

Should be a decent bite for a while still. Once spawn hits i usually just fish right there at the dam off the rocks. Mainly because its a shorter drive and plenty of fish. I have caught crappie there clear up through the first of june some years. Usually by then im targeting gills but ive had crappie hit my redworms.

Well, the bite was deffinitely off yesterday for me. Hit the same area and it was a struggle. Im going to blame it on the strong east wind crashing waves right up on the bank. I fished for several hours and only managed 6 keeper crappie and just a couple throwbacks. Took me over an hour to catch a fish and then the one i caught was snagged by the tail. Im going to try again one day this week with lighter winds and see what happens. Took one rod to see if the gills were movin in yet but the waves were so bad it was a waste of time tryin to fish it.

Got out today, a bit windy and rainy . Bite was slow, managed 6 keepers after a couple of hours. Seen people back in coves fishing to get out of wind. May try again Sat. morning if weather works out.

Going to try to make it out this evening after work unless its raining. Winds are pretty light. Seen reports the bluegills have started to bite so if the crappie are slow ill target the gills.

Made it out last evening. Started for crappie and had no luck at first. Decided to ditch my double jig rig and just go to a single 16th oz with a twister tail. That seemed to make a difference as i ended up with 12 nice slabs. Biggest one was just over 13 inches. Had some throwbacks as well. I also had a rod out for bluegill and ended up keeping 7 decent ones. Was tough to fish 2 poles as the gills were hitting nearly every cast.
