    Default Family outing

With the grandson on spring break I took him and his mom out for the morning. Beautiful sunny day that set record with high of 84. Breezy but fish were cooperating. Logan caught first fish of the day and ended up catching four gills and two small bass. In between fishing he was chasing frogs and using the net to catch little fish in the vegetation at the bank. Daughter caught a few gills herself. I did ok catching about 20 bluegill, a couple bass and a redear about 10". Really enjoyed this trip.

Good to make a trip with the kids. I’m about to have some of that myself. Logan had fun, chasing minnows is one of his jobs til he gets a bit older.

I'm fortunate that all four of my children live within ten miles of me. It was his first time using spinning gear but he caught on quickly and was making some nice casts even with the windy conditions. I have two 3 year old grandson's that I can't wait to get started fishing. When we watch them on Friday's I give both of them a reel to play with so they leave the one's in the rod racks alone and they go through the house cranking away.

That’s a good teaching idea Jim, never thought of that.
