Great news for us Garmin users as it won't be long for Garmin to release LVS 36 or whatever they are going to call it, unforunately IMHO leaving humminbird behind again. Not trying to stir the pot too much, but I'd be willing to make a small wager if anyone is interested. Scott

Nothing but Humminbird on my boat. I love all that I have and am blessed to get to fish like crazy with it. Way to go Humminbird, and I am excited to look at upgrading with Explore and Mega Live 2. Heck yeah!!!

Why does it have to be a competition instead of two alternatives?

I just bought a MEGA Helix 10 last year, haven't installed it on a boat yet. I'm done buying electronics as I find just as many fish with 2 999ci HD SI Humminbirds I bought off of Ebay as I do with 106sv Garmins. If you know how to adjust the settings for the water conditions you find yourself in they all see fish & structure.

Special Thanks to the original poster for sharing the news. It takes effort & time to get up to date, breaking information to the CDC family. Although not important to me personally often being here on CDC is where I get the bulk of the breaking news in the fishing community and is of great value.

I'm just pokin fun at the humminbird guy's. I've always said that though I do think Garmin has the edge, even 1st gen. mega live was usable and certainly better that no FFS. For what it's worth other than FFS, I still have humminbird for 2-D, and side scan as beleive they still have the edge. Scott

    Amen, BroKenneth.
I am overly sensitive about my stuff; sorry about that, y’all.
I do want to say this, however, as what I think is most certain about my electronics. Humminbird, has the best customer service in the business, bar none.

Why does it have to be a competition instead of two alternatives?

I can not think of a single instance where complacency drove innovation.

I am sure there are some instances, but very few.

Complacency is like the 2nd dog in a dog sled team.

    Always the same view.

For what it's worth other than having a little fun, my posts all of them, are made in an effort to provide accurate feedback IMHO , of prducts be they rod, reels, lure or electronics, that I share with this community based on my real world expierance from someone who lives on a lake, and is TRULY blessed to be able fish 7 day's a week 350 day's a year. It is only my expierance that I share and hopefuly it provides some guidance and joy in what I expierance on a day to day basis. Not meant to pick a fight, just providing feedback from a truly afflicted fisherman down in Ga. YMMV. Scott
