Absolutely SLAB AND G SAUCES FOR ME. NIBBLES WORK WELL ALSO.

I've had pretty good luck with Crappie Magnet Slab bites and Thump Gel. Yesterday, I had a fish hit my jig twice, and both times, I missed the fish, and it pulled the jig almost off the hook. I added a fresh bit of Thump Gel to my jig, and I caught a 14" fish the third time I dropped next to the stump.

I make my own pink & chartreuse nibbles with a small salmon egg mold that makes 12 dozen at a time. I mix gulp alive shrimp, slab sauce & a shot of bang crawfish shad spray & they smell a lot like berkley power bait scent & the crappie definitely like them.

For what it’s worth! Scents do help when the bite is finicky. That’s rare, that occurs in middle of the summer and dead of winter for me. Crappie like us have to eat to live. So they will bite when conditions are most favorable. What I have found it’s more about profile, presentation and what the fish are actually feeding on at any given time. I recall many years ago growing up bass fishing on local creeks and state lakes. My older brother got to watching Bill Dance, Jimmy Houston and those guys. He had every bait, scent even down to tackle boxes they put on their shows. You couldn’t fit most of the gear in the boat he had. Which meant he spent a lot of time fishing changing baits. While sponsoring them to keep doing what they loved. Pro Bass Fishing!
Never failed we would go, I out caught him at least 3 to 1. Till this day when I do go bass fishing I still fish with the same five lures I fished with as a young teenager. I still fish with the same plastic worms as well. It was more understanding where the fish were and how you presented the bait and what they were feeding on, than the color or what it smelt like. The same with crappie. Long and short of it, it takes a lot of time on the water, it takes picking other people’s brains that catches fish on most outings. I pick Rojo brain regularly. He’s very knowledgeable, he catches fish, and he fishes some of the same type waters as I do. Doesn’t do much good picking the brain of someone who fishes the clear water of Tennessee on most waters here in South Mississippi.
We have both been fishing our entire lives. The difference is simple, up until about 3 to 5 years ago I never fished with anything but minnows or tad poles or small white crawfish for crappie. Now I rarely fish with live bait. But will when they get finicky. But I do have three scents in my boat. Slab Sauce, mineral oil, and fire balls. The mineral oil was a secret an old tournament crappie fisherman told me about 20 years ago. They are not going for the scent as much as they are the oil glittering of the bait which catches his attention. By the way you want to increase your catfish catch use it on your favorite catfish bait.
They all work in certain conditions. Good luck and keep fishing.

I don't use scents much but if I was going to buy some I'd try to support the site and get Slab Sauce.

Still pretty new to the site. Didn't realize Slab Sauce was sold on the site. Thank you for making me aware of it!

I've tried just about everything, and I don't think any of it tastes good at all!

In all seriousness, the G sauce works well!

Ed Moe's, aka slab, that owns this site, makes the slab sauce.
