Hoping you get better soon and pain goes away. I guess this next is for future reference if you need another joint replacement. I had my first knee done in 2013. Was on pain meds for a week. Recovery was otherwise normal. Then 3 years back had my other knee done but this time with robot assist. Not the first pain pill with that one. Then had a hip done with robot assist. No pain with it either. My first knee has always just felt odd. You can tell an artificial joint is there. The second one feels normal. If in the future I need a revision on either one I will make sure to use a surgeon who uses the robot assist. Get well soon.

T hank you alphahawk. Something to think about for sure. I knew of robot assist surgeries, just not on knees and hips. Back 11 yrs ago or so, it was discovered I had a cancerous tumer on one kidney. The Dr used a robot making only 3 small incisions instead of a big long one. Back up and around normal in three weeks. No radiation, or chemo needed.
I recon it would be upto the VA as to which Dr I would have to go to, ad they're footing this bill. It was service connected. Thanks for the heads up.

Thank you everyone for the thoughts, Prayers and PM's. they, and all of you mean the world. Everyone is saying take it easy, don't over do-it, relax...Looking back at the last week, seems that's what I did. Not the way to get ack to 100%. Yes it's going to. On top of the Torniquet on your leg about 6" above the incision, they have to move muscle and ligament in order to get to the joint. the old gets cut off, bone ends get shaped to accept the ne parts. Which get glued in place. Then they start putting things back. No stitches or staples, glue and some tight mesh tape holds it closed. This allows any seepages out, but nothing to get in...Prior to the operation, while sitting on the edge of the operating table, the last thing I remember was the nurse prepping a spinal block. Lights out, then the recovery room. No pain for about 2 hrs. Then, Hey, anyone get the number of that train???About the time you feel your feet waking up, the pain hits.
You learn how to get in and out of a tub, a car, Up and steps with the walker, and a few other niceties... The pain killers make you sleepy, but the pain says, oh no, you're not sleeping yet. The re-freezable ice paks become your friend. They give you a couple of exercises to do as you can, swelling stops them a lot...and walk with the walker as much as you can. That my friends will consume your first week. I'm going to end this here, as my knee is saying, Hey, you, yes, you...we been at this angle long enough. I was feeling better than the last couple of days, thought I would go a bit as part of my PT...Made sure I had my two-wheel walker, but wishing I had my 4 wheel walker, with the built in seat. I, like the south end of a north bound mule, went to the mailbox. Haven't gotten mail picked up in over a week. Well, that mailbox is about 130 Yrds (390ft), from my house...I made it with 4 breaks going, and 3 coming back. Quite a bit too much I think. Knee has been SCREAMING at me all afternoon, and though not swollen, the right ankle is talking to me too.
All in all, for 9 days post knee replacement, I think it was a good day. I've had an ice wrap on and off most of afternoon, as well as into the night. Back to PT in the morning, then none again till next Wedsday. Then it's every Tues.and Thurs. Through ... which should end their in-person PT. Hoping to sneak a bit of line stretching in before the real cold gets here. Then over the cold months, I have a few projects to get accomplished. All the mods to my blow-up pontoon so it's ready in the Spring, as well as a fly-tying station. Well folks, I need some ice on the knee again, so here's wishing everyone a wonderfull evening, great health, and tight lines...Till the installment, of How the World???

Don't go too far with that self PT. Pain ain't good, it's screaming for a reason. The crappie will be there when you're ready.
