    Default First cast.

I usually get an idea of what the day will be like by the first cast. I eased into shape enough to put my little jig where I thought it might get eaten and wasn’t disappointed. Didn’t move it far and got the almighty thump, and it was on. He must’ve seen the boat before cuz he really didn’t want to meet me.Name: IMG_5264.jpg

That’s a Bobby Garland Itty Bitty slab slayer in iced tea with lemon color. It worked very well til the tail said goodbye. I didn’t have long to wait for his cousins to come see me today either. I had over ten fish in the first 30 minutes. Nino showed up and we spent the day playing leapfrog through my office. Slow periods were never very long for either of us til we left hours later. The Trout X rods were doing work today and casting well enough that I had to keep from squirrel fishin a lot. We must’ve hit the feed just right and I just stopped taking pictures after a short while. I did catch a Warmouth today that I made famous last week with iridescent dots all over his dark body. Warmouth, bass, gills, crappie, and catfish made up my bag and I think Nino’s was about the same. I’ll throw yall a few pics and try not to wear it out. As I said, very similar to last weekends two trips.

These may just be more pics like you’ve already seen but the part I like is the first fish pic was taken at 7:07 and the crappie pic was taken at about 8:15, and I didn’t take pics of all the fish I caught in that time frame. I also quit taking pics just after 9, and I’ve got lots of pics I’m not posting. I was officially busy. However this was the one I’m happiest about as I don’t catch many. It might even be the first one this year, and he was a dandy. Runnin. Through the weeds and making the drag talk. I was. Excited!

A fine specimen near ten inches. He and all the others got a pass today but believe me that dinner could’ve been good. After 11 it got hot and we chilled a few minutes and cooled off some before heading home. Another fine trip in the books. Thanks for coming along, clay targets tomorrow and dinner at the fish house later. Hope all of y’all have a wonderful Fathers Day. I think mine will be just perfect. Til next time……Skeet

Those fish always look like bar bouncers, especially when those dorsal spines are up!

I never get tired of seeing fish pictures, keep em coming!
I love the colors on all of them .
I’m sitting here soaking my big toe in Epsom salts wishing I could go tomorrow.
As soon as I can get a sock over it I’ll be on an adventure, even if it’s a short one off the docks .

Happy Father’s Day to you and the rest of the dads here .

Great trip and pics, thanks for telling us about it.
Yes, I was talking to myself; sometimes even I have to ask for expert advice.

Great trip and pics. Been on the slow side here for redears. Just can't seem to find them. That's why it's called fishing. Thinking of hitting up rivers more, something needs to change.
