    Default Wheeler Lake 04/04/23

My buddy Brian came up from Georgia to go fishing with me today. We left out of the boat ramp around 6 and fished until 1:00. We put 15 in the boat with 5 of them being keepers. 10 inches at the shortest and a 16 inch slab at the largest.

Seen a smaller gator hanging around. We got pretty close and he didn’t seem to mind. Pretty colors and patterns on this lizard!

Brian’s first fish was no slouch, 11 inches and nearly a pound.

I brought a nice 12 incher in at 1.25 gonna make a nice meal out of this one!

The fish of the day came from Brian! A whopping 16 inches at 2.5lbs. A real wall hanger. Was a really proud moment to put him on a slab like that and net it for him.

All fish were caught on a crappie magnet single poling or slow retrieving. So thankful to have friends that get to come and enjoy the outdoors with me. Not only did we put an excellent fish in the boat, but nature provided us with some beautiful sights today. Hope everyone has a blessed week and stays safe.

They still aren’t going shallow yet. The ones that are darker are just dark from stress being in the cooler.

Awesome trip, report and pictures. It's nice to have like minded people from around and away from the area to call friends. I hope I don't derail the thread...so a pm is fine. But would you mind speaking about your personal floation devices?
