Don't tell anyone but My little Okuma UL spinning reel and Okuma UL rod cost me around $35! Have had it about four years now and the money I saved over a $600 to $1200 set up I put back $35 for a new one if needed and the rest I spend fishing! I'm not sure what makes someone spend that kind of money on a rod and reel!

There is a large group of folks out there that simply enjoy using nicer equipment. Same can be said for those who like nicer cars, clothes, jewelry, etc.

5'8" Luna has been ordered. I'll use this fishing up in the cypress trees this spring.

Congrats on the 5’8”. I didn’t realize my inbox was full but have some space cleared out now.

Last night I bought the MajorCraft Finetail FAX 623-UL. I have the SUL version and absolutely love it, but wanted a bit more rod for these 13 inch shellcrackers I catch here on Lake Barkley. I looked for other area trout rods without much luck, it's challenging to source these rods!!

Having said that, I know I'll love this rod because I love the SUL version. I bought it on Ebay from a reputable seller for a shade over $200...Price has gone up on these rods...
