Just wondering if anyone can help be identify this bass I caught Saturday. I am no expert on these things . From looking at several pictures I can't find one that is just like this one.
Now the experts can have something to do today lol![]()

So far it seems spotted bass is the going determination. Can anyone tell be why spotted and not Alabama bass? My brother says Alabama bass (he considers himself an expert on all things fishing related, LOL) This is a learning experience for me.

On a closer look I now think Alabama bass is correct. A spots jaw will extend to just below the eye. The jaw on the Alabama is shorter. This one is clearly shorter than than below the eye.

Mstr Dan thanked you for this post
That is a Large Mouth bass but looks poor. I agree with Crappiepappy
I’ve caught a ton of Spots. As has been mentioned…did it have a tooth patch?? From the photo you can’t tell about the dorsal fin…which is different between a Spot and a largemouth. Hard to say with info at hand but I would say skinny largemouth.
