    I also use a float when long line trolling on Lake Purdy. I use six and a half foot rods spooled with four pound test line. A friend and I rent a Jon Boat and he does the driving and all the turns so the lines don't tangle. There is a weight about five inches above the hook so I am pretty much aware of any bites.
