Good, economical solution to an ever-present problem.

I know it might not stand up to a forceful attack. I could have used schedule 40 black pipe but it is a rust problem and is about $35 for 5 feet. If this gets defeated or attacked I might go with black pipe or solid that I centerline bore to the appropriate depth so they will slide together. Call this a feasibility study of application. Thanks for the insight though.

Maybe consider using panhead 1/4 x 20 bolts instead of the lags and rivets. With a predrilled backing plate out aluminum similiar to the top side on the under side then bolt it in. It would make it almost impossibe to rip it loose. I hope I didn't over step here. I like the idea of it and had never seen it before and your fab work is nice.

No over step. I had the same idea. Unfortunately, I do not have access to the underside of the floor without disassembly of either the rod locker inserts or the hatch compartment insert. If I had access, I would have used stainless bolts with one-time steel locknuts. Did not know if the juice is worth the squeeze on that type of disassembly. Good analytical thoughts by you sir! Thank you for the compliments.

It's not the numbers or the size, it's the time spent on the water!BabyFinster thanked you for this post
