    black hoodie , black insulated bibs , black shoes ,black rod and black JIGZ ......
    KABOOM is the word ya'll
    14 to 18 foot of water , not many male fish in the mix ,pretty close to the bottom , ok bite early for an hour or so .
    49 degree water temps .
    only and I mean they only really wanted a black jig, not kidding either ...

    Why do you think it was black? Maybe something they are eating on the bottom? I wonder if it was coincidence or a definite reason?

    I've always had good luck with black jigs. Worked good last Sunday for me. Good job Ketchn ninja... lol

    I am still not sure about that part of the puzzle , high numbers of breeding channel cat maybe ?
    they stock the lake all the time with small ones and they are probably making good number of catfish fry ?
    but there is no doubt about black being the key , any other color just don't get bit ....

    Gosh.... that sounds logical. I was thinking more bug like maybe or even leech.

    I hear baby channel cat are orange when hatched , but I bet they get dark quickly ...
    orange is also a deadly color in there alot of the time as well ....
