quite tricky , it is always my hope they want to cooperate and it isnt in them very far down .
a turtle that don't cooperate is not fun to deal with , just saying

best table fare turtle wise i ever et and i et it often was snapper when i was a kid .
kinda roast beef like texture and shredded and in a wine sauce of some sort , i traded/sold larger snapping turtles for soup when i was young to a fancy high end food establishment in Pa.
50 cents a lb was my sell price and about 8 bucks was my highest dollar amount , but back then that was pretty large bucks for a kid .....

at $.25 a gallon for gas and a dime for a loaf a bread , yes sir , this kid was steppin in pretty high cotton for sure
you could fill a lunch sack full of candy for 10 cents back then ,we used to hit a spot with a dime and come out with a really nice assortment of 3 to 5 for a penny candy
think I spent most of it on sporting goods though , could get lots of line and hooks and sinkers and etc with that kind of cash back when .

Those turtles hit chartreuse lures pretty good here in Alabama too my friend. I just do not care for turtle soup so I just cut the line and fish for more Crappie.

When I was a kid, I cut grass with a push mower for my cash. if I got $5 for cutting a yard, I thought the cops would come looking for me for stealing!
Most times I only got $2-3 for front and back. That was the late 60s.
