Marked a lot of fish hugging the bottom underneath the bridge. But didn’t stop.

I recommend that you do your "scouting". Like anything else, you will get out of it whatever you put into it. Already have a pre-determined place that you know youre going to fish that night but spend the last hour before dark riding other likely areas/creeks idling around looking for bait and/or fish. Study the lake bottom, struct, and depths where you see things on your graph and whatever you see you can make plans to fish there the "next time" you go fishing. On the next trip to the lake do the same thing. Set up where you think your luck will be the best according to your scouting trips. Keep scouting. When you do find those good spots you'll likely know it and can plan sitting over them on your NEXT trips. That's how you will "learn" your lakes. Since I didn't night fish the summer months I'd suspect the places you find in the summer will be VERY different than your winter night stalking places. In the winter time finding the bait is the key and I'd suspect that holds true during the summer months too. Ive always felt the fish are not gonna be far from their food. JMO.....

I agree with you on this. Didn’t stay long in places that didn’t show anything. We did exactly what you said kinda look around mostly and the places that had the bait we sat for a while with the lights on and saw what came in.
