Thread: 2# mono?

I got a 2,500 yd spool of Stren IGFA 2lb line for $1.00 at a fishing auction last Spring. Stuff is probably 30 odd years old though and very risky to use due to old age and white residue was on the line itself so I used my Pops as a guinea pig and spooled one of his reels with it. He handled some slabs on it this year without any break offs except the usual snags.

You mean after pops walked uphill each way barefooted in the snow to work each day to slave and earn enough coin to put a roof over your head, feed ya and send you school all those years this is how you are going to repay him, by making him the guinea pig?
