8 pound braid to smallest duolock available, with a 3/4 ounce weight above the duolock. Then we make up 36" leaders using 4 pound fluorocarbon, snap them to the duolock, and push jigs.

MUCH less blowback with braid than any mono.

I like Nanofil the best. Super small diameter and so very strong.

My first post in a long time! I'll check out this site every day now!

Kinda what I do, but my reels with braid have 20-30lb braid (line counters & baitcast reels) .... but, I'm not Spider Rigging with them, I'm Pushing jigs or cranks. When using jigs, I have barrel sinkers of the appropriate weight on the main line - then a bead - then a duo-lock snap - then a 18-24" leader of 6# mono - then a jighead. For the cranks on the line counter reel outfits ... the braid is tied directly to the duo-lock snap - then the 2oz in-line trolling weight is snapped onto it - then the 5' leader of 6# mono - another duo-lock snap - then the crank. (my 2oz in-line trolling weights & leader w/snap are pre-made and wrapped around a section of pool noodle - the noodle is split down one side & the weight is inserted into that slit, then the leader is wrapped around the noodle and the snap is open and stuck into the noodle to secure the wrap)

I haven't yet, but fully intend to do the weight/leader/snap or weight/leader/jighead wraps on noodle sections with some of the lesser weights I received in my gift bag at the Spring Fling @ Green, that were donated by Bullet Weights. I received the Mr Crappie Troll Tech 1/4oz & 3/4oz weights, which will be used mostly when Pushing jigs, Road Runners, or small cranks. I'll reserve the 2oz weight rigs for the larger cranks (like 100-200-300 Bandits).

Having the weight/leader/snap or jighead wraps readily available means less time & energy spent fumbling around in the tackle bags for the component parts ... and having your attention diverted from the rods still in action.
