Thread: Fall Fishing on the 'Foot

I'm looking at the last weekend of September, 28th, 29th, 30th. The weather should be pretty good still, maybe a hoodie in the mornings, but tshirt and shorts the rest of the day.

How are Boyette's little cabins?

Brian, we booked a 4 day trip back in 2015 and stayed at Cypress Point. Cabin was comfortable and clean. No complaints, I would stay there again. I took my boat and the only drawback, even though small, you have to back about 40-50 yards to unload. But they give you a slip to park and tie up. All minners are FREE! You need more, just get 'em. Wife has a cousin who lives in Union City, TN. He says Boyettes is nice, too. But no experience with that one. Can say much for our luck with the crappie, but it was very enjoyable vacation. GOOD LUCK!

Growing up a Missouri Hillbilly had a bunch of real enjoyable family vacations to Reelfoot.Usually made a couple spring trips,fishing Blue Basin for crappie the first trip and bream the second.You will most likely enjoy seeing the cypress trees,eagles,ducks,osprey,and other wildlife.Some folks like spider riggin the lake but we used to single pole the cypress stumps/trees and always had a ball.Back years ago had a choice between a jon or a Reelfoot boat and we always used the Reelfoot boat if staying at a resort.A lot of our trips we took our own jon boat and camped.Another big highlight for a chow hound was eating at either of two restaurants on southeast end of the lake .Both were great,do not know if either is still there.You can look forward to visiting Reelfoot ,I would suspect you will want to return again.Enjoy your fishin and visit.

I enjoy fishing the foot in the fall. last time I was there in the fall the water was at the lowest it had been. The fishing was great . The weather was a little cool that year. we fished single pole and double jigs on the stumps . done really good. Im planning on going back down in October this year. looking forward to it. I always take my own boat and I stay at the old Blue bank motel . Believe it is called Reelfoot outdoors now. the rooms were nice and the staff was great. They also have a sporting goods store that is nice

I remember seeing one of my BnM videos of Ronnie Capps and Steve Coleman spider riggin Reelfoot.It was enjoyable watching them explain their approach. Don't know witch number dvd it was as I have lent it and others to a friend.
If you would happen to fish Blue Basin the north end is shaped like a big upside down U. The northwest side of the U has several canals going to duck blinds.The blinds can be enjoyable single pole fishing along with cypress stumps and edges of lily pads all over the lake.Reelfoot is a beautiful place to wet a line.Enjoy yourself

We are booked in a cabin at Boyette's, arriving Friday September 28th, and be leaving out on Sunday. Plan on fishing for 2 whole days and eating some good food in the evenings!
