Just walked in the house from my first trip in the toon. Did not leave house until 11 and rode up the lake to the 391 bridge. Put out trolling rods and started fishing. First fish in boat was a 5 or 6 lb cat. Later on hooked a gar. Did not catch the first crappie but that was alright. Around 10 to 15 boats were fishing and most were long lining. Saw a few fish caught but not many. Bite was slow for everybody but that was okay. This was the shakedown cruise trying to figure what was okay and what needed changing. To lazy to take minnows so that hurt. I am happy with the toon.

Glad to hear the toon suits you well. I'm sure you'll have it slimed down in no time. I got my boat hooked up and rods loaded down. Heading to the lake in the morning and hope to be floating at first light.

Derek that is to early for me. My alarm is set to go off at 9 am. I may ride back up there tomorrow don't know yet. I want to try tight lining with minnows next trip. There were some boats tight lining down at the river split when I went by. I talked to a friend that lives up there and after I left he went up to bush river and pulled for a while and caught 8 gooduns. Go figure. I still got my walleye boat and it ain't going any where for right now. Don

Sorry you couldn't get on them Don. I'm going to the classic tomorrow and if I see some good looking jigs I'll pick some up. I'm sure I'll run into Snap Hunter and I'll look out for Ray. Derek good luck tomorrow.

Each year a buddy and I eat lunch at Bernies Fried Chicken on Bluff Rd. before we open the kids fish pool at noon. It's my cholesterol fix for the year.
