Default Need some honest advice please

My dad and I are headed to Grenada March 29-April 6th, he's 77 and can't wade fish. Was wondering if we would be wasting our time w the high water and if we were better off going somewhere else. We spider rig, jig fish and cork fish. Any advice would be appreciated. Coming from Il.

Never wasting time when you’re getting to spend time fishing with your dad. Should be able to find fish, it’s tough fishing right now. Pray for weather to stabilize and no more rain. Lots can change between now and then

You don't have to wade to catch em that's prolly just the most productive rite now! Can prolly catch the rigging out from the trees! Or getting into it next to the structure!

Well it's raining now so the water is going to get even higher . I think a cork and minnow around the trees going to be your best bet .

Does anyone think we'd be better off going to a different lake

Don't think lake is going to matter much. Like Mo said, it's going to depend on weather even if we get more rain. Weather needs to stabilize some from these cold fronts that keep coming through. Water warms just a little and settles down you should catch good in shallow water from bost. Depending on where you stay you can still run to Enid or Sardis.

No where near all the catching will be done by waders, come on down and get em.

Can't tell you how many boats I've seen sunk at Holiday Lodge on Sardis. Still confusing to me why they can't add some strings of tires or other to break the waves at the ramp. I've never seen a lake get as rough as Sardis! This year you can actually get back in the coves and trees out of it, but then there's the issue of being able to get your boat in and out!
