Finally got to go crappie fishing today, been 2 months or more... it was slow, had to work for them today, caught a good limit of 10 in or better, half were 12 to 13 inches, good fish! Kept 20 10 inches or better.... water temp 59 to 60, I found fish but they didn't want to bite! fished from 9:30 am till about 3:30 pm. Lot of people fishing today!!!! Everywhere I wanted to fish there was some one already there!
With it warming up. it should get lot better.....

Mountain Creek was muddy in the back of the creek, 63-64 degrees, saw a few people trolling, I jigged fished docks. Caught only one, got a lot to learn still.

Didn't see but one boat trolling Friday and that was around the island at McCreary Creek. Jig fished brush from 5 feet of water to 18 feet of water and only caught 2 crappie one 11 1/2 inches and the other 14 1/2 inches. Both came in the 5 feet of water or less. Bass on the other hand just love my jigs. Got a late start around 11:00 AM and quit around 6:00 PM. Mostly fished above the 150 bridge. Water temps I found were in the high 50s. Water clarity anywhere from clear to real dirty. Brush on drops and around piers. One fish I caught came from around the back side of a pier and the other off of a lay down in the back of a creek. Everywhere I went there were boats crappie fishing. Everyone I talked to was having a tough time, even the ones who had a some fish. Good job Country Boy.

At High Rock yesterday, crappie was on the banks in 3 feet of water. Tried under bridges, 14 feet attractants, not even a bite. Kept 9, 11-13 inches. I’ll let you know tomorrow how they taste...

Things must be a lot different at high rock, because the fish I found yesterday on norman was 22 feet or deeper, I caught crappie on brush in 30 feet.
