The lake has already come up a couple feet. They are going to come up another .75 and hold it till they go to summer pool. They are worried about a drought this spring.

If a man wanted to tent camp where would be a good place close? If I have to work the weekend I might try to come down for a day or 2 earlier in the week, hopefully I will find out my work schedule early next week.

Just post on here you are coming. BamaS will post a sign up list of what to bring for our gathering and eating. I would suggest you reserve a room asap if your coming. That will be a busy week. I would suggest Little River Marina or Weiss Lake lodge for lodging. Both clean and reasonable. Little River Marina is on the water and you can launch there if you want. Weiss lake lodge is in Centre and is close to eating places. It is nice and has fish cleaning station. If you want to spend a lot of money try yellow creek villas. I live on Weiss and I will be glad to assist you. Feel free to call me at 256-422 3402 for lake info. When you come you need to get with someone who knows the lake. There are several on here other than myself, Crappieflopper, RogerA, and others. Weiss is not a place you want to just drop the boat in and take off. Don't know what the lake level will be at that time but there will be some places you can tear something up in a hurry. Again call or pm one of us and we will help you and during camp you can meet up and follow one of us. Look forward to meeting you hope you join us.

Coach the lower end is a little easier to run if I remember correctly right? I've been to Weiss one time and I said I would never go back. I remember the upper end being very very shallow.

Lowes , if you have a Navionics card it will work fine on Weiss, the lake master card is not high Definition on Weiss. I will be glad to show you around, it can be ruff to run if you are not use to it. The River Channel is marked but you have to watch your depth finder. Later on before camp get here get with Cowboy and come up and I will show yall around and help yall all that I can.
