Cool Lake Wylie Team Scooperkidd 1/20/2018

Grady and I decided to fish lake Wylie with some of the gang. We had a bunch of fun jabbing each other and catching some fish. Scouted the slot and saw little bait but saw some schools of crappie. 9:30 we decided to get the minnows in the water and it was slow going for two hours. We were right next to John and he was catching perch and our rods were still. We told him we were happy for him but had other words under our breathe. We started to catch fish about 11:30 and we stopped catching about 1:30. The fish we mostly deep, caught a couple about 20 feet. I knew it was going to be a grind with seeing little bait but heck out there with friends cutting up it is fun. Brettw even called to give on the spot advice. I have a premium account with him so I get 24 7 service hotline. We ended up with a fat hawg 15 inch chock full of eggs and shad. 2 14 inch and some other nice fish.

Strange thing was the fish had good color on them even the deep ones. They must be going up and down in the water column. Usually catching them 45 feet they are a little pale not today.

brettw warned me that there were some pirates lurking on Wylie ! Never thought they would bother my old tub. But as you see they kept creeping closer and closer. Then they started to catch my fish. I had bought the brettw super pack of knowledge. And it was working out just fine. Then this rough lookin crowd showed up. Oh well we had fun .Caught some fish and enjoyed a great day on the water. Think I gave Dawgg four nice crappie and 15 - 20 perch. Had to cut my day short due to sick bride home alone. But next trip I am bringing my bugg off material for sure. Keeps those unwanted pest away. Had fun guys. Lookin forward to next time.

Sounds like a good trip hate I had to miss it. I think there is light at the end of the tunnel and maybe soon I can get caught up on some things and fish more.

Sounds like a heckuva good team either way to me! I'll bet between those two they were thinking about the joking they'd get with the team name. Thanks for sharing the report and pictures guys. John, it somewhat looks like a white bass in the corner of your livewell, looks like I see some stripes, it might just be the way the picture is took , or it might be I've forgot what a perch looked like since I have not saw one in person in a long time. Also the fish at the top left of team scooperkidds picture looks to have stripes.
