Started the day as usual....up at 4....go get shiners....Waffle House to eat....only 30 min from there to the launch.....then, 18 miles from the launch, I heard that dreaded sound.....rumble, rumble.....flat on the boat trailer.....that was at 6 AM on the interstate....pitch dark and I am by myself....I had my CB radio on and heard someone say "somebody's fishing trip just got ruined".....I replied quickly, "that would be me"....thank goodness I was about 3 miles before I reached that 18 mile long bridge....when I stopped, my flat tire was about a foot in the grass off the pavement.....had a problem with my hydraulic jack getting the tire raised enough to remove the tire....so, I had a claw hammer and had to dig a hole under the tire about 10" deep to get the tire off....by this time it was daylight good.....thought about going back home but the die hard part of me said go fishing......got to an exit about one mile away and stopped to check my spare tire on the ground I had just put on....only 20# of air....luckily they had an air station there.....another thought of turning around for the house but hard headed me headed to the launch.....finally got to the launch around 8:45.....started off spider rigging 6 poles.....2 medium sacs fairly quick then the gar moved in....then I hooked a very nice sac just over 15"....tried lifting it into the boat and my 10 ft B & N pole broke in the tip section (new tip on order).....caught a few small sacs and a catfish after that which I threw back.....quit at noon....wanted to get back home soon as I did not have any faith in my spare tire...next day (Friday) got 2 new tires....the new Goodyear Endurance....I was running the Goodyear Marathon's and they replaced it with the Endurance.....2 more plies on the sidewall and inflate to 65#.....much more stronger....so, Santa came coupla day's early...
Merry Christmas everyone....

What a day buddy, but you persevered. Good for you. Sorry the catch wasn't much but you did get to spend a nice day on the water.
I think I read something about the new Goodyear trailer tires were being made in the good old USA. I don't know if it's the Endurance.
I'm happy for you that all worked out for the best. So even though you were hassled you got it done.
You and Didi have yourselves a very Merry Christmas.

Glad to hear that you made it to the lake and back home safe and sound, Mr. Bruce. Plus, those 3 fish look like a nice little mess if you eat a couple of taters and some cole slaw with them.
