Default Lowrance Hds gen 2 mapping card?

As a Ohio fishermen I am planning on fishing Florida next month, and have 2 Lowrance Hds gen 2 touch units on my boat and I am unsure of what mapping card is loaded on the units, is there a way to check? If memory serves me right which it now days sometimes doesn't I wanna say Lake Insight is what they came with, I know all Oh. Ind.and Ky. Lakes are loaded!

Open the card readers and remove the cards and look.

My HDS 7 Gen 2 has a Navionics map card in the SD slot. I live in SC which is in the East region card. I bought a South card for when I go to Florida. Not sure about your card but I believe all enhanced mapping has to come via a separate SD card.

If you have Insite pre loaded it should cover any lake the have no matter where you go. Like SeaRay said some of the enhanced mapping has to come from a seperate map card. But you probably won't need it.

I don't need 1 foot contours when my boat is six foot wide. I struggle with 5 foot contours. Navionics only zoom into 50 ft on my units. Insight let me zoom into 20. Big difference if you are sitting on a brush pile "justa jigging".

Probably no card in them but instead they are using built in insight mapping. Just coursor over to the place / lake your gonna fish and zoom in and look.

I have HDS Gen 2 units on my tournament boat. They come with insite mapping (unless specifically purchased with a different set of mapping software). Ensure you have the latest update for your unit. If memory serves me, the last update for them was early 2016. I doubt they will push any more updates for this unit as it is past its shelf life.

I've used Navionics map cards in my HDS 2 and I can tell you that a large majority of the areas I fish (lake Huron, Lake Erie, Lake Michigan, etc...) are no where near accurate with the Navionics maps. The insite mapping that came on these units is much better. At least for those areas. I quite using it after I found such a huge discrepancy!

I checked my units today and as expected there is no physical mapping card, so I suspect they have Lake Insight loaded. I will scroll to the lakes in Florida to see if they are available. Thanks everyone for the reply

I hooked up the Hds 9 tonight and scrolled down to sunny Florida, it sounds like it covers every area I will ever fish so alls is good. I also set way points on fishy looking spots so I can plan my day.
