I really appreciate this post. I also fish the Tennessee River, or as some call it Kentucky Lake, but you can't see Kentucky for many miles down river. Anyhow, I have always wanted to try fishing the main river channel for crappie, but usually just stick to the creeks and lakes off the river. My lack of knowledge is what has detered me so far. I may have to give it a go.

Great info thanks for sharing.
DK is one of the most patient and informative teachers I have had.
I try to keep his lessons in mind.
The only thing I would add, if I may, would be to keep aware of surroundings like markers, buoys, and other boats especially if you fish solo alot.
{That graph can be magnetic to my attention span}
Thanks DK for a highly informative tip!

And that is just exactly how it's done. I don't know if it's the piles of article's I have read by some of the Pros, Al Linder and the group at in fishermen, Bill Dance, Mr. Crappie and the like. I have been able to go with DK on a few occasions and every time he explains his approach to me I get that light bulb feeling every time. DK lays it out so even us dummies can learn to fish too... And the delta is just as easy to fish as using your mapping and running sometimes a few yards up the creek channel to the bends, if it has them. You can almost bet someone has put out a brush pile or 2 some where close.
'Jesus answered and said to them, “Go and tell John the things which you hear and see:
The blind see and the lame walk; lepers are cleansed and deaf hear; dead are raised up and poor have the gospel preached to them.
And blessed is he who is not offended because of Me... Matthew 11:4-6
