I was going to ask what type of wood the rod was made of but you must have read my mind. I bought an old ice fishing rod at a garage sale last week and I think it's made from the same wood. I like that old fishing gear and have quite a few wood and metal rods and old reels hanging on the wall of my cabin. Good to see you taking the time to restore the one you have.
