I'm sure it does but last Friday I caught 6 to 1 against my buddy and we were both using the same body, color and fishing at the same depth. I actually switched rods for one with only mono to cast out further than the braid and notta. It had the same chartreuse head as my buddy. I retied with a green head and on the first cast, BOOM. The only problem is the green worked better than chartreuse then but I didn't try white, red, orange, black or any others so maybe something else would have done even better.

May not matter on some bodies of water, but some see more pressure and have different water conditions than others. I don't have a single favorite jig head color but have several different ones that I use with certain tails. I vertical jig with a rod in each hand and have tested it extensively, it makes a bigger difference than most might believe. At least on the lakes I fish Lake Barkley and Kentucky Lake.

All I use are insert heads on tubes so they are all unpainted as they don't show anyway .

100% unpainted. usually catch more than I want to clean, so see no reason to waste time changing jig heads when I could have my jig in the water![]()

I bought five different colors of powder paint. I enjoy messing around with it, and I am getting better. That being said, I tie on a color or an unpainted head and fish until I lose it or it gets beyond use. I lost a fish on the way to the boat yesterday, and I blamed the hook (couldn't have been me!), so it got changed. Bottom line, I put more faith in the body than the head color. The most important thing to me is a red #2 sickle.
Hands down florescent pink works best in the bodies of water I fish, especially when the water is cooler.
