Default I couldn't be more thankfull........................

.........................to Ed (Slab) for building the greatest fishing web site on the net and to the Lord for the great friends I have made here.

This morning, while eating breakfast with our crew of ol'fart rednecks, "BaldJohn" got a call from a friend who was supposed to meet him to head to the lake. Seems the guy has come down with some sort of malady and couldn't go. Everybody else at the table was busy. John knows how much I have suffered with my leg and back pain and didn't want to make me feel any worse than he did yesterday when he brought me a quart bag of fresh crappie fillets. He knows how bad I want to be on the lake but just haven't chanced it. Out of the deep recesses of my pea brain came my question: "Can you let me get my physical therapy done before I meet you at the ramp?" John said sure, I'll have everything we'll need. I didn't give him a chance to change his mind.

I drove thru pea-soup fog to the ramp where John met me as soon as he got my call that I was there. We spider rigged for 3 or so hours and caught a ton of 9.5" black and white crappie along with enough keepers to make it interesting. The fog burned off to a beautiful blue sky and the crappie quit like you had flipped a switch. I still had a ball soaking up the sunshine and BS that is sure to be knee deep in any boat that our bunch is fishing from.

Thanks John and Thanks Brian (bandchaser) for calling and checking on me after seeing my truck parked on the shoulder of 68 at the ramp. You guys have no idea how much all the calls, PMs, texts, e-mails have meant during my surgery and recovery. I'm not long from feeling spry enough to roll out the white Excel and the longline gear.

I'm glad you were able to get some PT on the water today. It ended up being a beautiful day when the fog lifted.

Can fish be caught off a pontoon? I thought those were for blue-haired ol' ladies.
