Default How to connect my ipilot link

Extra parts needed now. 30 dollar dongles now to connect your Ethernet stuff. It used to be built in the higher end units. Cha Ching.

I think (I don't know), but you have to get a hub or splitter to run more than one device on each unit right? If you dongle to the TM AND another unit you need the hub to split the Ethernet connections. More dongles needed then. How to connect my ipilot link

Nothing fake about it, when Lowrance started networking with the NEMA 2000 stuff you had to buy all kinds of stuff, terminators, tees, this cable that cable, power cord..... Had a starter kit but it never had all you needed. Have no idea about todays units but to me Humminbird is following right down the same path Lowrance did.

Yeah the NEMA networks all take a backbone system with terminators. I think the Birds do to. That system is still needed for the fuel consumption stuff, external GPS pucks, and other higher tech features.

Hooking 2 things together with the birds is not bad but if you hook more than that you have to buy the box, then cable, then dongles. Got 4 things hooked to mine right now, can't add but one more but don't think I will need any more, right now anyway.
