Thanks to you'll that put up with us and try to make a gathering every year spring and fall. I hope you'll reconsider and continue to do a great job. I know, I don't participate but I do try to help out when ever I could. I think that having a gathering at the same lake is the problem for the guys who travel a good distance. Heck I'd like it at Wylie or Wateree but I know it would damper everyone else's plans so I don't ask. Please try to keep up the tradition where ever it's best located for all to attend.

I know several asked for it to be at Clark Hill, but it needs to be at the lake most convenient to the coordinator. In the past we have met at Russell, Secession, and Greenwood. I really don't care where it is as long as there is one.

Why not have 2 events one at clarke hill the first of April and one at Whyle a couple weeks later. They don't have to be real elaborate. We could do it without cooking, maybe have everyone bring there own food. We could just have trophy for 1,2,3 and one for big fish for this year until we get some more people to help with the planning. I am willing to help organize the one on Clarke hill and maybe John and the Dawgg can do the one on Whyle. Since a lot of people will be gone the first of April I say have it the second or third weekend. Then have the next one at Whyle the next or following week and do the same thing. What say you all. Maybe we could have it at Dorn landing, meet at daylight go fish and return around 1 and weigh fish, hand out trophies and go home.

10-4 guys. I am glad that I was able to attend and donate in the past. If y'all ever just wanna meet up and fun fish no production let me know. I'll spread the word down this way. I have been an event coordinator before and know how involved it can be.

The worst problem with Clark Hill is that everywhere we've checked there isn't anything open in March/April that was available to the fishermen and women/kids to be able to sit down to eat and enjoy the family day part of the event. That's the main reason it has always been at Russell State Park during the spring.

Sinkermaker, you and Searay would be GREAT at organizing events. It does involve a good bit of time getting places reserved and getting up donations to help pay for things with raffles. Then there's picking a date that best suits the majority of the crowd...as well as the timing of the spawn. Planning a meal and organizing who will bring what, finding someone (or a group) that will help cook, making the shelter reservations, posting everything and giving directions, even doing some pre-fishing to help out those that aren't very familiar with the lake so they too can catch some fish helps everybody have a good time.

Basically it can be as big as you want to make it or as simple as you want it to be. We used to do as the guys at Wylie sometimes does now and just pick a day (without a lot of notice) and say we're gonna fish so whoever can make it just come on out. We've met an hour before the fishing to eat and fellowship and had some great times and it wasn't too much for anyone to organize. Heck! There really wasn't any organizing to it. Just a lot of fun.

That is what I am suggesting that we go to for now. If we just pick a day and fish then if it is bad weather we can cancel for a later date. I don't see a need for cooking, bring your own meal and I myself have more crappie stuff then I will ever use. I say just trophies for the winners. The main thing we get together for is fishing. We can socialize after fishing. Okay people chime in as to what you want to do. April will be here before you know it. Don

Just a thought, have it at Hickey Knob State Park. There you have rooms and food. Not that I'm too active but I would like to fish and meet people.

Bobby Brown Park (no longer a State Park) has facilities that are now open to handle this type event. Could let folks fish Russell or Clarks Hill in the festivities. Just a suggestion.
