I used to go bass fishing there twice a year and stayed at Talquin lodge. The owner and his wife were fantastic. (His name was Les Watchter I think. When we came in in the evening they would cook some of our fish for supper. Ochlawaha (sp?) creek was awesome as well as Little River. Next time you go, ask about bass alley...All these memories were from the 1960's and early 70's. The even had fish habitats everywhere...

JD glad to see y'all had a good time. We been fishing talquin since mid 90's. It is a great place, we stay at whiporwill with Jeff. He has great food and boat slips too. Not taking away from the lodge it's great too. Best day of fishing I ever had was there.

We do fish some at night now, but I run the route during the day so that I have it on gps then I can follow my tracks but I still go slow at night. The size of the fish is better than most places that I have fished. To me it is a hard lake to figure out but I enjoy fishing it. My wife loves it because on all but one trip we have seen eagles.

We stay at Ingram,s or The Whippoorwill. We left our camper at Ingram,s for the month of December which was nice except for the squirrels. One chewed a hole in a water line which I had to repair. It is nice to just hook up the boat and go. The people that we have meet over there are extremely nice and friendly also. I hope to go over again in two weeks.
thanks wanafish. Be advised there is a big crappiemasters tourney in the first weekend in February. I have a friend fishing it and thinking of making the short trip down for the weigh in and ma even wet a hook
