    Default Good day to fish...

Full moon, cold and ahead of a frontal system coming in didn't hurt the bite today. Started out with a hearty breakfast
and a go get 'um attitude. Found them in 10' on the bottom. Mixed bag of black and white crappies averaging 1.25 lbs. Eagle Mountain Lake shared it's bounty.
Filleted 26 healthy crappie and bagged 'em up for the freezer. All they wanted was something in chartreuse and presented very slowly, then a little slower. Water temp was @ 52*. Cousins joined up to share some laughs and good times. Looking forward to the next trip.

Ketchn, I thought a couple of 'em were crosses. One hybrid and one butter/yellow perch. First one I ever caught. Was told they were
great eatin' but don't get very big. We tossed only a few back that didn't measure up legal. Was informed the area we fished was a
great location for spawning crappies and a few did have signs of eggs already. Will be going back for the spring fishing for sure. Was a
very kayak friendly area. The fishin' was tough to start with cause we just couldn't present the jigs slow enough. When we finally got
ourselves to slow down, we started catchin'.

Nice catch! Also yes them little yellow bass are good to eat! Some actually prefer them to crappie, but not me. However I will cook them together!

i don't see one in the picture though! We catch them a lot here when crappie fishing or maybe after spawn is done we will go out spoon jigging and catch lots of different fish including the yellow bass!

Skip, I was never one for lining 'em up for photos. I don't mind posting photos but lining 'em up on tailgates was never my thing.
The competitive side of fishing never grabbed me, but the eatin' side did. Just the way I roll (thanks Randy). Name: food.gif
