The fishing has been pretty darn good on the many trips I've made over the last month. I've made three trips to Wateree, the remainder to Santee. Pictures were not taken on every trip, but here's a few from the dates stated. Some days the white crappie bit best, other days the blacks were doing the chomping.

This time of year I spend most of my time fishing the river channel from Wateree creek up towards the Catawba dam. Of the three trips, all were spent tight lining minnow tipped jigs in 18 to 30 feet of water. The fish seem to be holding to the bottom. I was fishing with a buddy and we had two limits the first time out, and kept 30 nice fish each of the other two times we were out.

nice fish tim, ive been finding them in the same depth range close to the bottom also. I have fished the upper part, but usually never make it out of the lower part as there are spots down there that will make you not want to leave.

Good job Tim. Glad to see you thinning the herd in two lakes. Got to get my boat in the water before it dry rots.
