    Default Toronto Verdigris Ramp 10/30/2016

Got to the ramp on the Verdigris about daylight yesterday only to find out that it was not usable. Went to walnut creek and it was cleared off and in good shape.

The ramp was silted shut and the gravel approach to the ramp was washed out about a foot deep.

I know, i know, i'm a Lurker here! LOL! But this is something that gets my goat. Shink, did you call the Corps office and report the ramp? You know we pay our taxes here in this Great State of Kansas, and we pay mightily right? So by God they can get that ramp cleaned and fixed so that we tax paying, and license buying fishermen can get back on the water! I know all about flood water, having lived in Kansas for 55 plus years, but they have the equipment to get things fixed up. I don't know how many times I have called the Corps office over at Big Hill Lake concerning the ramp at Card Creek, Elk City Lake. They " usually" are pretty good about getting the tractor over there and cleaning up the mud after high water. But, if you don't call and stay on 'em', it may take awhile to get done! "Thump", and tight lines! Lol!
