When you get the old motor oil color, please let us know. thanks

The most fish I've ever caught in my life was on that color.

Here's the motor oil I'm referring too. Zoom baits from the 1970's... it turns a chartreuse tint when held up to light.

The mf brand will get you that same green as the old zoom and manns but it takes a lot of it. It's not very strong.

thats the color it is..I just used more of it to get a darker shade...that's it, and when my neighbor took the bait out into the sun light it went green...like green weenie...watermelon sort of.

I wish someone could pour me some of this old Motor Oil color in a 3" Senko-type worm for bass.

A 1-1/2" lure would be great for bluegills too.

One thing is certain in the fall with the water being so clear, the opaque colors out fish the others..we did a controlled experiment with colors last year 3-1 the opaque colors out performed the solid tried and true traditional colors. This went on from oct.- dec. until all the heavy rains came in last year in late dec. then it was tough, dodging logs debris pine needle etc.

The picture of zoom does not look like the motor oil that I used to use in the old days it looks more like a root beer color. if I remember right the original motor oil and a sheen to it I will check with some of my buddies to see if they Some of the old plastic baits to post on here and you will definitely see the difference.

You will want Spike-It's MotorOil Dye for that colour. I am not 150% sure but almost sure some if not most of their colours came from the same source. I do know 100% that their old Junebug is Spike-It's Junebug
