I don't know many "good" fishermen that don't guide some..part time ...this rule will cost them a block of good fishermen..miss two guide trips, and they have lost money

In respect to the tourney at Grenada on March 10 I dont think it will matter as much, taking out January and February at Grenada is not really that big a deal, now the Crappie Masters Tourney on Washington will take out a bunch or add a bunch. The purse will tell the tail, do you fish one tourney where the payouts arent all that great for the money verses the money they charge to fish their tourney, lot of livings being made in the Crappie Masters realm. Or do you spend another 100 bucks and fish for a chance to win a new boat, basically what Crappie Masters does in their championship and ACT is going to do it in all their tourneys.

Cray, the guides themselves can guide on the lake up until the 10 day grace period begins. Participants can't hire a guide 60 days prior. Local guides would need to work Enid or Sardis during the grace period and keep on guiding. The tournaments are also scheduled prior to a Crappiemaster's tourney so there are no conflicts with them. Local tournaments could be another issue, however, ACT has posted their schedule already. Not sure if the locals have or not.

I know a lot of people that are really excited about this new trail. It sounds as if they are actually trying to do it right. I really like the idea of not having a classic with two hundred boats and with ACT you actually have to qualify instead of fishing three. Prefishing must be done with one boat which makes it all equal. Crappiemasters have people in their classic every year that didn't actually qualify. I mean if you fish 3 tournaments and cant catch 7 each time then should you really be at the classic in everyones way?

Thanks for clearing up the 60 day thing Yikes, I misread that as well.
the Crappie Masters at Washington and the ACT at Grenada are set for the same date unless CM has made a change lately, this will effect someone's numbers for sure.
I agree with having to qualify, I have fished a couple of National Championships by invitation, never qualified for one, just not my thing as far as chasing the circuit all over the country, will to bet that if I sent my money in this time I could fish the one the end of the month having fished on in the spring, not right. Even in our FJs everyone fishing has to be qualified, something earned.

Looking at the rules for ACT, If all the rules are followed to the "T" they will be lucky to average 35 boats for the tournaments they have listed. Not sure what they are thinking or using to throw out the 100 boat numbers.
I am sure they are taking a lot closer look into it by now.

John... Who are the fisherman that are making a living fishing the Crappie Masters Tournament. I realize there are those that own and manage make money, but just can't see a tournament fisherman making a living at it on just the money winnings. Like I said before, I'm a small time thinker.

That's a one in 35 chance to win a new boat for my 1/2 of $425 on Grenada and again on Sardis. Not a bad deal. If we win I will pay Speck $212.50 for his 1/2 and keep the boat.

I haven't seen where they say how many fish you can weigh in. I would assume it's seven live fish per day but I haven't seen that anywhere.
