I had a power issue with my 998. They fixed it quickly and had it back to me pronto. They take the turn around time seriously. They want that product on the water and making you happy. Glad it's working out for you.
Humminbird is good about fixing issues and getting them back to you. I had a 798 that got wet from fishing in a driving rain. Got it back in 7 or 8 days. My 999 had an issue with the left side si. Had it back in 8 days.

Unit arrive just a few moments ago federal express. I have 35 year class reunion tonight will put it on in the morning and report as to how it works

I opened the box just to see what type of communication was inside and it says unit was water damaged replaced with new unit and it's got a new serial number so they gave me a whole new unit. And now I have an extra cover so I'll be selling that shortly
