Default Striper night stalk with Uncle Remus

I have fished on the USS Remus several times so I was glad to host Robert on a Striper trip to Murray. One of my buds, Harry, has also fished on the Remus pontoon so he offered to join us. I was glad for the offer because his boat is much bigger than mine and at night in the dark, bigger is better.
Unfortunately the fish were not much in the biting mood. Also had a boat parked in my honey hole so we fished as close as we could without crowding them.
We only got 2 fish with one being around 6-8 pounds. The folks in my honey hole only got 3 so it was just an off night.
We had a good visit and we could walk around the boat so it was a comfortable way to spend the evening.
Here is Robert waiting on a bite.

I did get a cool shot of the guys next to us netting one. I got one of their numbers and sent the picture to them so we were on good terms with our neighbors.

We sent the fish home with Uncle and he brought me some veggies from his garden and we will enjoy then on the 4th.

Oh, yea, we also got to meet Micorps (Tim) as he came by the ramp to meet some of the SC guys. The ramp was extremely busy so we did not get to visit very long but I expect Tim to join us on future trips. Welcome to SC Tim. If this weeks temps of over 100 degrees doesn't run you off, you will be a certified southerner for sure.

We also saw a mermaid on steroids. Most unbelievable thing I've seen in a while. I hope Robert can figure a way to post his video of it.
All I can say is you had been drinking and saw that you would have stopped cold turkey and never touched another drop.

You saw my ex wife she don't have a tail but she's been on steroids forever. LOL Even though the fish weren't there you guys had a good time and meeting Tim was an extra treat. Tim is going to be a go getter and I appreciate that. I talked to him on the phone and just wished I could have offered a fishing trip this weekend. Wylie crowd in not a place to be with all the crazy people out there. We lost two to drownings this weekend so far. One fell off a dock and the other tried to swim to shore from a floating boat looking for help. So sad it happens so quick. Prayers for the family! Glad you got out and had fun. Thanks for the report and pictures.

Unless your wife can shoot straight 15 feet up out of the water and spin around like a top while riding twin water spouts, it wasn't her.

Sounds like a fine time was had by all despite the lack of fish activity. May I reccomend leaving the spirits at home. This may reduce the mermaid sightings.

I knew that was coming and I promise that John Barleycorn was not involved in the sighting.
It was some kind of high volume pump that was on a jet ski and it had two hoses about 40 feet long that connected to a small platform about the size of a skateboard and it had discharge jets under it. There was a girl on the platform, and she rode that thing like a rodeo queen. It was like air surfacing with the force of the water raising her up in the air.
Everyone at the ramp was spellbound watching her perform. She could spin like a top and swoop and dive. She would dive under water out of site and then come shooting up like a Nautilus rocket 20 feet in the air.
    Help me out Uncle Remus.

    WATER JET PACK - YouTube

I didn't doubt you Ray, just picking on you. Here's a link to a video of a water jet pack that I believe you witnessed.
