    Default Line question...help please

Pulled cranks today and had the worst day I ever had, lol. Not even many short fish. The only thing I did different than the last 15 years is I switched to braid, and this was the first time I ever used it. Are there any adjustments you have to make when using braid, as ft. Of line out or anything else? Something just didn't seem right today. By the way it is 20/6 Hi-vis yellow. Thanks for any help.

Man I thought braid would be very visible to crappie and decrease my catch rates. Creek slick took me to Greers Ferry (Ultra Clear Lake) and we fished a different color braid on each of the poles. We slap wore em out. Crappie are not line shy I learned. May have just been one of them bad days. They have been frequenting me lately too! Hahahaha

You fishing under em, they aren't deep anyway and that 20/6 will let em dig deeper. Caught fish today with 5 foot, 10 foot, and 15 foot of line out.

Thanks. Don't think fish seeing it is an issue. I'm mainly wondering if any other adjustments, like line out, etc. are needed.

Braid will run deeper due to it's smaller diameter. To have it run true to the charts you need 10/40 braid .

Thanks, G. Can you please post a chart for a 10lb mono for comparison? Thanks for the help!

Thanks G. This is getting confusing, lol. My 20/6 spool says .20 mm diameter, the arkie chart says .009. Why the difference?

The line you bought is marked metric measurement....instead of thousandths of an inch.......You will have to convert .20mm to SAE measurement to compare. Most ten lb. mono now days measures .011 to .012......which will throw the chart off a little but not that much.
